Mila Li violin-piano-voice

Master of music Performance, Bachelor of music instrumental music education

Mila Li was born in Ukraine in 1978 where she started to learn the violin at the age of 7 and piano in the age of 8. In 1988 Mila became a winner if String Youth Competition of Ukraine in the age of 10.

In 1997 she graduated Kherson Music College by Violin-Piano-Voice specializations and moved to Kiev where she started to study in National Academy of Music with Professor A.Gorokhov class (prizewinner of competition named by Bach in Leipzig in 1950 and competition named by Queen Elizabeth in Brussels in 1951)

In the age of 20 Mila successfully auditioned to the Ukrainian symphony orchestra - National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine in Kiev and worked there for 10 years (1999-2009) With this orchestra she undertook brilliant music tours, recordings and familiarity with a repertoire and finally she got a unique experience.

Almost at the same time Mila started to work with students as a teacher of violin in Kiev Luceum of Music (1999-2008). During this period Mila was involved in preparing students for taking exams, concerts and competitions. Mila’s ideas and traditions of teaching have been taken from famous Russian music school which is known for high professional level.

In 2007 Mila started to play chamber music with Kiev Chamber Academy orchestra as a first and second violin with Gloria Quartet in Kiev and actively worked in this aria until the departure to Australia in 2010.

In 2012 in Melbourne Mila started to work as a teacher privately and in 2014 she joined the Blackburn Academy and Forte School of Music.

Mila continues to perform with orchestral performances with the Yarra Opera and Nicholas Chamber Orchestra in Melbourne. Mila has a wide variety of musical skills and experience of working with students of all ages and abilities (five years old to mature adult) and from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
